What’s different?
Picture: 8K HDMI, QMS, new HDR Formats
The new Denon X-Series A/V receivers provide the very best in home theater performance and use the latest HDMI technologies. Users can enjoy movies and shows with exceptional image quality thanks to a dedicated “8K” HDMI input, which supports 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video, compatibility with the latest HDR formats including HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR, and a new HDMI feature called Quick media Switching (QMS) that allows a source to instantly switch resolution and frame rate to eliminate screen blackouts.
For Gamers: VRR, ALLM and QFT
There are several new advantageous features for gamers, including sharp motion clarity up to 4K/120Hz as well as Variable Refresh Rate to reduce screen tearing and improve overall precision. Gaming enthusiasts will be ahead of the competition with Automatic Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Quick Frame Transport (QFT) which are both designed to reduce lag and improve statistics. Denon’s X Series can also upscale existing HD and 4K content to 8K to allow more users to enjoy the power of 8K resolution.
Audio: Dolby Atmos, IMAX Enhanced, DTS: X Pro
The Denon AVC-X6700H and Denon AVC-X4700H models support virtually all 3D audio formats, including Dolby Atmos®, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization Technology, DTS:X®, DTS Virtual X™, IMAX® Enhanced and Auro-3D®. The Denon AVC-X6700H is also compatible with DTS:X Pro®, which will allow users to benefit from 13 DTS:X decoding channels with speaker configurations such as 7.2.6 or 9.2.4. Viewers will also be able to enjoy the latest IMAX Enhanced movies with 7.2.6 and 9.2.4 speaker systems thanks to new 13.2 channel processing capabilities with external amplification. The DTS:X Pro feature will be added via a firmware update later in the year.
Preamplifier Mode
Denon has also included a new “Preamplifier” mode on the AVC-X3700H, AVC-X4700H and AVC-X6700H. This mode was previously only available on Denon’s AVC-X8500H flagship model. The “Preamplifier” mode provides a clear signal path and higher tolerance at clipping levels by disconnecting the internal amplifiers when the receiver is used as an AV processor and all the speakers are powered by external amplifiers.
Audyssey Calibration: New Features
The Denon AVR-X2700H DAB+ supports Audyssey MultEQ XT while the rest of the range is compatible with Audyssey MultEQ XT32, as well as SubEQ HT for separate subwoofer calibration for a more balanced and controlled bass performance. The Audyssey MultEQ Editor app is available for purchase for those who want more customization options.
The X Series now include the new dual-speaker configuration preset feature, which allows users to save and instantly switch between configurations. For example, users can save both the results of the Audyssey calibration and a custom MultEQ curve or frequency range generated using the Audyssey MultEQ Editor app on the receiver. This means users can easily compare results and select their preferred setting. Listeners can also perform Audyssey measurements for two different speaker settings, such as 2.0 for music and 5.1.4 for movie soundtracks, for example.
With the new features in the Denon X Series, you can configure the audio settings and enjoy custom sound for both hi-fi and home theater alike.
